sky

This pretty pink-and-blue-hued skirt from lacepipe (one of my favouritest online stores) just makes me think of sweet summer days, slow sundowners and the like. I think we all need such moments of quiet reflection in our lives. Work has been extremely high tempo for some reason, and so I cherish these lovely weekends out in the sun. Oh and pardon the horrendous scabby knees - falling down on my knees (literally) has suddenly been happening with alarming frequency. Mortification doesn't even cut it. But well, scars make us stronger for life.

In all seriousness

Spent a lazy, cosy afternoon at Kith Cafe in Park Mall some weeks back.
The coffee was rather potent, and the salad was very pleasing to the eye (and very filling too I might add). What I love most about this place: the free wifi!

Like half of Singapore, we ventured out to revel in the Night Festival "festivities", although there honestly wasn't much to rave about. I think this is a wonderful initiative, but I thought this year's line-up was a little disappointing. The free entry into the National Museum of Singapore was a good thing though, as a means to escape the heat and the slowly burgeoning crowd outside. Outfit-wise, I opted for earthy tones, like my oat knitted top from Korea and brown riding shorts from hervelvetvase, mostly to complement my increasingly brown hair and brown-eyed contacts. Okay yes I am quite overdoing this :p

Anyhow, the best part of the night was evidently the crazy cool and kinda hip picture of us (yeah who am I kidding), which was an accidental and pleasant surprise - yay to good photo-taking skills! ;)

decoy.

Sometimes I feel like my life's in limbo.
Tonight is one of these times.
I hate it when people leave.
And I seem to be...stuck.
My colleague laughed at my sentimentality today.
He asked me to live with change because change always happens.
But a part of me refuses to accept that.

I know we all want to find our way in this world.
We want to be happy, with ourselves and what we're doing.
But happiness, shallow as it is, seems a bit too elusive these days.

Bali, I love you already.

I could wake up to this every day.

Early morning flights are the perfect reason to demand a caffeine boost. This iced caramel macchiato was heaven-sent.

After a rather harrowing time trying to get a cab which wouldn't cheat us at the airport, we sped off toward our resort, which I discovered is really, REALLY secluded (and that isn't a bad thing at all, really).

First things first: a luxurious dip in our very own villa pool. Yes, completely stunned when I saw this! Could it be any more gorgeous?

Parodying Sir Stamford Raffles at our villa entrance.

Out and about after our swim + afternoon tea. I realise, though, that my havis aren't all that good for walking :(

The seafood shops along Jimbaran beach all had huge piles of coconut husks outside.

A really interesting home we spotted! Reminds me of the Smurfs somehow.

Oh and the waves at the beach here are pretty lethal! Very different from our wimpy waves back home. Was thinking of trying out surfing but we'll see :)

We had plans to check out an open-air bar on a rocky outcropping nearby but decided to skip it in favour of: room service! Prawn linguine, roasted chicken leg and fried calamari - all yummilicious!

Ending this post with another random shot around the resort. Lovin' my cropped owl-pocket tee and denim shorts; they're the most comfy casual wear ever :)

Peace out. Can't wait to see more of Bali tomorrow!
