This pretty pink-and-blue-hued skirt from lacepipe (one of my favouritest online stores) just makes me think of sweet summer days, slow sundowners and the like. I think we all need such moments of quiet reflection in our lives. Work has been extremely high tempo for some reason, and so I cherish these lovely weekends out in the sun. Oh and pardon the horrendous scabby knees - falling down on my knees (literally) has suddenly been happening with alarming frequency. Mortification doesn't even cut it. But well, scars make us stronger for life.

 Sometimes, all you need to chase away the blues is a cool, structured denim shirt. This piece was originally intended for the fiance, but I fished it out of his closet for its maiden debut - and I think the denim-on-denim pairing worked pretty well :) Say hi to my fluffy furball too; he loves a good belly rub wherever he is.

It's already October and we haven't gotten all the important details of our wedding settled yet (eeps). I know I should be panicking like crazy now, but strangely that isn't how I feel - which is a good thing I suppose..? And I have been pinning my heart out over at Pinterest - all these gorgeous garden weddings in the USA are an absolute dream. In hot and humid Singapore, one certainly must dream.

In all seriousness

Spent a lazy, cosy afternoon at Kith Cafe in Park Mall some weeks back. 

 The coffee was rather potent, and the salad was very pleasing to the eye (and very filling too I might add). What I love most about this place: the free wifi!

Like half of Singapore, we ventured out to revel in the Night Festival "festivities", although there honestly wasn't much to rave about. I think this is a wonderful initiative, but I thought this year's line-up was a little disappointing. The free entry into the National Museum of Singapore was a good thing though, as a means to escape the heat and the slowly burgeoning crowd outside. Outfit-wise, I opted for earthy tones, like my oat knitted top from Korea and brown riding shorts from hervelvetvase, mostly to complement my increasingly brown hair and brown-eyed contacts. Okay yes I am quite overdoing this :p

Anyhow, the best part of the night was evidently the crazy cool and kinda hip picture of us (yeah who am I kidding), which was an accidental and pleasant surprise - yay to good photo-taking skills! ;)

There's really nothing like wandering about neatly manicured lawns. These photos were taken at a lovely colonial restaurant within Fort Canning. Beautiful day, beautiful atmosphere.

 

We had a spot of tea at Rochester Park. Another one of my favourite weekend places. This is my tai-tai face. Goot? ;)

 

Just a short little post as I sit in a quiet corner at the al fresco section of Kith Cafe, Park Mall. I was adamant that no cafe in Singapore offered free wifi like Korea cafes did, but they proved me wrong - and I'm all the better for it ;)

Happy 47th Birthday, Singapore.

Well, I didn't wear this outfit today but since there is quite a splash of red in it I thought I'd post it up, because it is National Day today. The parade's going on now but I'm here sorting through my huge stash of photos and wondering how and what to post up next. How (un)patriotic of me eh.

I've got lots to chew on these days, but I can't seem to find the right words to express it anymore. Perhaps it's best that those thoughts be kept on paper. In any case, I know He is still in control and, and it is that statement I cling on to, more and more, each day.

Yep, I guess you can pretty much tell that I am quite into outfit shots these days. To me, creating a good outfit is like composing a beautiful melody - both require thought, effort, meticulousness. I don't want to draw attention to me per se, but more to what goes into making an outfit work. Setting, lighting, textures - all these play a part in creating your very own "work of art". Okay, so that phrase may be a little grandiose, but hey, what's life if you don't take risks now and then?

We ventured into this charming little garden in the heart of the city a while back. I think it's nice to have these pockets of quiet spaces amidst the busy honking of cars and the hurried gaits of people with purpose. Here, in this garden almost reaching the sky, you can just... leave it all aside and revel in the fresh smelling air, the chirping lull of invisible friends all around you. My heart feels at rest when I look at these pictures; it speaks to me of peace, of simplicity, of solitude. And that, I think, is something I sorely lack in my everyday living.

Times of refreshing, here in Your presence.

To sum up my funtastic few weeks, in no particular order:

free ice cream by the river, watching touristy boats sail by

first taste of singha beer, which is pronounced simply as "sing" in thailand

munching on quesadillas and nachos, yes I couldn't stop

movin' to the music in pump room, everyone who seemed old went wild at We Are Young

getting compliments for walking about for an hour or so in heels, which were actually wedges

reading maps successfully, yay for location services

slurping up medicine-tasting cocktails at Sauce

virgin limo ride (okay fine it was stationary), excited much!
